With Ali now almost 37 weeks pregnant it's only a matter of days until the arrival of baby no. 2! So, we've buffed up the baby's bedroom in anticipation; clothes all sorted by gender neutral or girl, toys and books by age (or noisyness, in which case they're put out of reach!) and the cot assembled ready for action.
A few homely touches are now required to finish off, including a photo for an empty frame - ah ha..... that MUST be my calling (seeing as sorting clothes into piles certainly isn't!). So, off we went today to shoot a family pic. A self portrait isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, despite being a photographer, especially when Daisy insists on pressing things. None the less, here are a few photos taken today out in the sunny, yet very crisp conditions.
2008 has been a busy year for me, not only photographing 40 weddings throughout Gloucestershire, but also the wide selection of portrait sessions that I've completed, from new-borns to large family groups and most connotations in between.
It's been a fantastic year for me, made ever more enjoyable by great clients, fine weather & super wedding parties! Is this the best job ever? I do sometimes have to pinch myself just to make sure! :-)
A personal post about the imminent new addition to the Davis family will surely follow soon, which for me will be the foundations of an exciting start to 2009. However, this post is to thank all my clients of 2008 for allowing me the pleasure of photographing their wedding, and the thanks, referrals & general positive feedback that I've had throughout. Cards, wine, flowers, cake & plenty of goodie bags (especially from recent weddings) are always gratefully received. I joked recently about the point at which to just accept thanks and when to say thank you for thanks (does that make sense?) - well, to conclude this is my one time THANK YOU for anyone who's written me a nice email, bought me a drink, posted a comment on this blog, sent a gift in the post, or even made me smile when I'm home alone working away behind a computer. My day is always made better by these small gestures and I hope this is reflected in the work I produce on an individual basis for each of my clients.
Happy New Year to you all, either previous clients, 2009/2010 couples, prospective clients and/or friends & family.
Here's my selection of favourite wedding photos to sum up 2008 - which was seriously hard to shortlist from well over 10,000 wedding photos that have been taken.
