Karl & Laetitia - 26th Sept 2009
September is a beautiful month to shoot weddings. It's typically warm enough to feel pleasant, yet cool enough not to get too hot under the collar. The quality of light is just amazing and we get the earlier sunsets which help add some drama later on for a typical wedding day.
Karl and Laetitia got married at St. Bartholomew's Church in Churchdown, followed by a reception at Manor By The Lake, Cheltenham. I'm very fond of Manor By The Lake, not only because it's literally on my doorstep, but also it has great gardens, is a beautiful building and offers fab interior spaces too. Basically it's a photographers dream location. If you're getting married at Manor By The Lake, give me a call therefore - I Dig it!
I'd normally say at this point the the day went well. Ummmm!!!???? Can I say that today, perhaps not, as it wouldn't be strictly true. There was one small hold up when the make up lady was an hour late in the morning. The minor knock-on effect was an arrival by Laetitia 30mins late, which actually made for plenty of shots of the guests, so as I see it, every cloud has a silver lining!
Anyhow, here are a few photos from the day followed by a slideshow.
Fashionably late to St. Bartholomew's Church, which is set on a hillside with fantastic views across Gloucestershire.
Cheeky little look - cute.
Manor By The Lakes magnificent architecture (above) and topiary gardens (below).
I've talked about this before, but it's yet again another rare blogging of a group shot.
This lady in the middle on the right hand photo is sooooooo photogenic. She had a lovely expression every time I noticed her.
Occasionally you take just one photo and it's in the bag. This was a one shot wonder and I love it. For those wanting a slightly more in depth explanation to what I mean by 'one shot wonder' - I'll often take three frames to get one, especially with Laetitia 'blink-a-lot' Craig.
There's something about this photo that keeps drawing me back to it. I love getting a shot of loads of guests in one hit, when stacked like this it's awesome.
And a little slideshow too..... enjoy.
