Cheltenham Wedding Photographer

This week I was a Wedding Photographer on my home turf in Cheltenham.  Well, I say wedding photographer but in this instance I didn't actually witness the wedding ceremony itself, nor meet any guests. It was in fact just a couple portrait session.  I often shoot documentary wedding photography, but today this wasn't going to be the case.

Michel and Nicole got married in the registry office in Cheltenham, then planned to dine with a few guests in the evening at The Montpellier Chapter.

I was drafted in to take some beautiful couple photos to remember the day and show friends and relatives who live overseas.

Having a couple of hours to take photos, (rather than a few minutes) is quite a difference to your typical wedding day photo shoot.  We had plenty of opportunities to explore Cheltenham, shoot inside and out, plus nail some great veil shots.



















It has to be said, taking photos of Nicole wasn't exactly hard - how beautiful?  Is it the Ozzie genes?  


I love this shot above.  Possibly one of my favourites from the indoor photos.








First dance.  Well strictly speaking there wasn't a first dance, so something impromptu in the hall way of Montpellier Chapter will suffice!

Sunset photos Leckhampton Hill, Cheltenham

Landscapes aren't really my thing.....I prefer to take photos with people in 'em!  But tonight I nipped out to catch the sunset from the top of Leckhampton Hill, Cheltenham.  I wanted to shoot some interesting portraits against the sky so accosted some unsuspecting walkers and got them to pose for a quick grab shot.  Despite not knowing them I soon found out they were getting married later this year at Cripps Barn, a local Cotswold venue I've photographed at a few times before.  Anyhow, Ross & Charlotte, drop me a line and I'll gladly send over this super sunset portrait.

Park life

We appear to spend quite a bit of time at the park these days.......yet more photos of the kids!

Barnaby has a great approach to protesting against something he doesn't want to do.  Not your usual toddler tantrums with screaming and rolling around moaning, ohh no.... he simply lies down.  At this point he has not fallen from the three wheeled mode of transport, but doesn't want to go home, so dismounted and led on the ground.  
Somewhat annoyingly, the classic parent one liner of "ok, I'll leave you there then" (and slowly walking off) has NO effect whatsoever.  In fact Daisy breaks first and starts crying worrying about leaving him behind!

Portrait Photographer Cheltenham - 7 month baby

Waaaaaaaaaay back, in the long forgotten year of 2008, I photographed the wedding of Ian & Emma at Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham.  Now, fast forward a few years and ta na.....we have the arrival of baby Hannah.  (aka Hindle Junior)  My services were called upon to take some relaxed family portraits and knowing Emma & Ian already certainly made for a good start.  Emma is a self confession camera dodger (I recall this from her wedding day!), so I knew I'd have my work cut out on this one.  

"Baby play mats are great fun, but tell me, who's this man hanging around our house taking photos?"








A cheeky little family portrait in the house, followed by a few tickles.

"Hah, dads goofing around looking like an idiot again!"



"ahhh, my feet.  Now how do I pull these socks off without anyone seeing?"



"I'm in my baby car seat, this can mean only one thing - we're off somewhere exciting".....



.....and indeed we were.  As it was such a glorious day we popped out for a walk in the park - Pitville Park in fact, where Ian and Emma got Married at the Pump Room back in 2008.





Hoodies hanging around on park benches, frightening the locals!  Ahh ok, no so in this instance.  Hood on.........

Kids and swings, always one to make them smile.


And to finish how about a cute baby photo taken in amongst the spring flowers. Oopsy daisy, staying sitting up at seven months isn't always guaranteed!
