Cheltenham snowboarding.

I'm just a big kid at heart and snow is still VERY exciting. I can even get up early....like 8am, easy! That is early for a photographer may I add.....especially one with kids.

Today I went out snowboarding on the local hills. It was the second day of such an adventure, just this time my friend came with me and took a few pics. So here we are enjoying the snow, rather than listening to all the doom and gloom spouted out by the press.

The MAIN problem with snowboarding on a hill, rather than a purpose built ski resort is the serious lack of chairlifts & the decidely short runs. 20 seconds down.......5 mins walk back up.

Snow Angels - still entertaining even in your 30's. I realised today you're never too old to enjoy snow.

Two mins to catch my breath at the top, then back down for 20 seconds of high octain adrenaline. Well, maybe more like a little jump and a couple of turns.

Meanwhile at home Ali was looking after the kids. Barney as per usual was sleeping.....in fact I found they all had an afternoon nap. The decerning eyes amongst you will also note this can't be Barney sleeping at home, surely he'd be too hot!?. Indeed it's not. It was taken a couple of days ago when we ventured out with him in these 'arctic' conditions. He was therefore kitted up in this super fury eskimo outfit, that is just ohhhhhhh soooooo soft. Gotta get me one of those.

Two babies.....

Below is the rare sight of Barney with his eyes open. He appears to have my 'sleeping' genes, so if he's not having milk then he's asleep. Pretty good really as it does make life a little easier. Needless to say, sleep deprivation at night is still the case though - doh! This means my wit when writing this has officially left me....wait till a good day with 8 hours sleep though - I'll be like a kid on Redbull & Haribo.

For Daisy, the best thing about having a baby brother is all the 'stuff' associated with babies comes back out again. You'd presume Barney would be in the mosses basket, using the cot, boinging in the bouncy seat, wearing the baby clothes......but no, Daisy has taken it upon herself to test out all baby paraphernalia instead.

With presents galore at the moment, we've more wrapping paper than WHSmith. Daisy thought she'd remind us just what the best present is you can ever have - ta naa Daisy!

Barnaby Davis

The new addition to the Davis household has arrived, in the form of a BOY - wow......didn't expect that! I'm used to girls. A BOY, that means new clothes, boys toys, having 'the chat' about girls. It is all very exciting though and I'm totally stoaked about having a boy this time round.

It's first day back from the hospital for Ali today and we're just getting settled into the household routine. Or put another way, we haven't yet ventured out the house with 2 kids! I'll have to shoot a family portrait soon though, but in the interim I just took this pic of Barnaby asleep in his moses basket.

For anyone wishing to know a little more about Barnaby's entrance to this world (and assuming you're not squemish) add me on facebook where I've popped up a good set of pics from the hospital. Here's my profile.....Matt on Facebook

Davis Jnr.

With only one day to go before the arrival of Davis Jnr, I took a couple of photos of Ali (as apparently this is the LAST time she's prepared to be pregnant again!). I'm thinking she'll be pleased once the baby is out, although this then presents a whole new set of problems! Pulling up her socks shouldn't be one of them though.

Just so you appreciate how big a bump gets, I've finally found out how to post LARGE size photos - phew, just in the nick of time!

It's probably worth noting too that anyone contacting me over the next couple of weeks may have to wait for a response - i'm officially on paternity leave.... although I'm sure I'll blog about something or other and read the occasional email!

Winter Wedding Photography Oxfordshire - St Denys Church, Stanford-In-The-Vale

Karin & Giles - 20th Dec 2008

Having had a busy December (ya know, Christmas and all that), plus a New Year and our new baby arrival on the horizon, I hadn't time to previously post a few shots from Karin & Giles' wedding on the 20th Dec.

So, here we have a short selection of shots taken.

I love the inclusion of the little lad in amongst the Groom, Best Man & Ushers.

A swift pint before the ceremony - problem was, the pub wasn't open!

I like seeing these two photos together, (above) the relaxed pre bride arrival banter, (below) the slightly more shitting it face (can I say that!?)

Now is the vicar looking at me here? Is it a "you'd better not be taking any photos'' glare, or just "ohh isn't the singing lovely" thoughts? I must confess to hiding behind my camera and not making eye contact as I thought she was about to tell me not to take any photos.

The Gospel Choir were pretty awesome I must say. They sang one of my fav tunes too - 'As' by George Michael & Mary J Blige - wicked.

The challenge of winter weddings - yep, no light. Or as I found, light in very few places, so pick your spot and hope someone's in it.

The caricaturist was pretty good - very quick...thankfully no time to sketch me and my overly exaggerated features - phew!

Two tinker toes

Yesterday Daisy's friend Lilly came to play, which meant twice as much trouble for me to look after. They've known each other since they were babies and get on really pretty well - despite the odd argument over a toy!

Bouncing was order of the day (as usual), although this soon turned into Daisy sitting on Lilly's head. I wasn't sure whether to break it up or encourage 'rough' play, but as both of them thought it was great fun I just kept on taking pictures instead.
