Adam & Katie - 16th May 2009
Berkeley Castle - now here's a venue I'd not been to before - wahooo..... I like new venues. This is a fairy tale wedding venue, surely every little girls dream is to get married in a castle right?
My luck of dry spells did eventually run out though for this wedding. Saturday was a mixed bag of weather...some sun, some rain, sun, rain, sun, rain again! Arrrrrgh! Despite this Berkeley Castle is one of those wonderful wedding venues that caters really well for any weather, as the interior is equally as impressive as it's imposing exterior.
Here are my favourite wedding photos, followed by a slideshow.
(Edited to add: I now have a new website and blog. If you would like to see some other Wedding photography at Berkeley Castle then check out some of the new blog posts, or visit my homepage www.mattdavisphotography.co.uk
The main reception room - set for the ceremony, soon to be transformed for the wedding breakfast. A very dark room, with very high ceilings. Ask any photographer what a nightmare that is!
Ah ha......a list, no, make that a wedding matrix. Katie was one dedicated bride when it came to organisation. Sparky was simply following orders!

This is a cute detail on the back of Katie's wedding dress.
Ahhhhhh.....! Look, more group shots, what's happened to me?!
And the registrars decision on photography this day was "you can take a photo as the bride comes in, and one or two from the back very discretely". Bum. That's just no fun. You can only see so much from 100 yards away you know!
(Edited to say, Gloucestershire registrars are now somewhat more accommodating of wedding photography, and have subsequently been more considerate in allowing it)
Lord & Lady Teakle...... in the "cloakroom"!
Yeah it's dry, lets be outside.
Ohhh, cold now, lets get back inside.
Sweet, sweet, sweet window light.
