Cotswolds wedding photography - Matara

Last weekend was a winter wedding at Matara, still a touch of snow on the ground in places....but only just! Kinda like the left over remains of a snowman.
Thankfully it was a little warmer than the temperatures of late, although this weekend at least Louise had a fluffy jacket to go with her wedding dress.
Barry (Mahammad) and Louise's wedding was I guess a fusion of cultures - part Indian wedding, part Irish wedding. All the guests were great and I think the top award goes to Louise's Mum & Dad who have on their hands 6 kids in total. You'll see from a few pics below........Louise isn't easy to spot amongst her sisters.


Bling wedding shoes huh? Actually, is the description 'vintage chic' more apt?



No, not Louise, but her bridesmaid (sister) who I incorrectly thought was a twin. yep......you soon get corrected by the younger of the two this isn't the case! :-)


Is that a reflection or are there three of Louise in that mirror?




I really like this photo above. It wasn't in fact until I downloaded my photos and started to work through them I found I'd taken it. Trust me - getting six faces all to look in the right direction is hard enough in a group shot, let alone when shooting documentary wedding photography.



Matara winter wonderland.



Dad was a cool, calm, character (although you'd have to be with three daughters). All the bridesmaids and mum had been beaten by the necklace clasp - but Dad stepped up to the plate and had it fixed in no time. Love it!



Would you believe it, one of Matara's wedding co-ordinators is indeed hiding behind that dress.


Relax Barry, you've got a big moment coming........



......not before the obligatory late few guests. Yep, digging that quick walk/run style you got going on there - very neat.



dum dum de dum, dum dum de dum.



So, only a few photos allowed during the ceremony itself. Not a BIG problem you may think....well.....think again. Yep, Louise IS A BLINKER. Thank goodness though, we escaped this time, just.





I'll be honest there is some form of repetition at weddings.
Registrar: "We'll set up a signing of the register shot for you Mr photographer"Matt: "Lovely" (said with a hint of sarcasm).
I'm really not keen on set up shots - and certainly not when there're set up where I wouldn't take them - typically a spot with little or no light, crap atmosphere, blank walls or awful backgrounds.
Anyhow, needless to say I took a 'typical' signing of the register shot, followed by this one -which is has to be said, I'm really rather pleased with. Why you ask - well....it's a new angle on an old cliche shot of me taking a photo of guests taking photo of the married couple - there!







Inside AND outside all in one photo - ohh such a joy to have the best of both worlds in a single snap!










Ahh I mentioned that warm jacket earlier huh - well, here it is.










Just lovin' this confetti shot. It's the guests faces that make it great plus the inordinate amount of confetti. Good stuff though - worked well for photos.


Eerie, romantic, moody, seductive. Who knows....I kinda just took it and figured you can make of it what you will.



See....there's the aforementioned Matara wedding co-ordinator again. This time performing the job of dress fluffer. As much as I joke, I do rather like this shot too.
