Kingscote Barn Wedding Photography - Gloucestershire
Ben & Emma - 12th March 2010
Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing Ben & Emma's wedding at Kingscote Barn, Nr Tetbury.
Bridal preps were super fun....loads of room to take photos and a great set of girls to hang out with. The surprise came when I left for the barn and drove through a few serious rain showers though. It was clearly going to be an exciting day.
Miss Fortune. Such a great name. I recall my first email from Emma and it being the one thing that struck me......how could she become a Palmer?
Jimmy Choo wedding shoes.... and what a heel on 'em.
This photo keeps coming back as a favourite. I LOVE Emma's curly blonde hair....as you'll see, I snapped it again later too!
We'd managed well all morning with no nerves or tears - until now. Yes, that is hand flapping in a vain attempt to stop the tears flowing. Below you'll see the quick thinking by the bridesmaid (I mean cheerleaders) who pull out the pom-poms to divert Emma back to laughter.
Who knew wedding hair could look sooooooo good.
Emma comes close again to tears. Step in 'funny' bridesmaid who averts potential make up damage by 'flashing her white bits' - lucky I shot it from this side hey.
So this shot. From an outsiders perspective - yeah, it looks kinda nice. But what you don't know is, Emma spent the best part of 10 mins holding this - it became a kind of comfort blanket to settle pre ceremony nerves. Little did I realise veils were so versatile in their use.
The weather at Kingscote Barn was somewhat changeable....sunshine backed up with VERY dark rain clouds. Makes for a dramatic photo of the brides arrival though so I wasn't complaining.
"Yeah baby, I'm the bride, yep me, this one here, the one with the white dress in the wedding car.....!"
Such a cool expression as Emma explodes from the wedding car.
I'm not sure what moment I've caught here. a) a few lovely ladies smiling, or b) a rouge hand touching up a bit of leg?
Those rain clouds had reached the barn at this point.
Mum & daughter - love this shot.
And yes, for the keen eyed amongst you, that is a wedding co-ordinator hiding under Emma's wedding dress. Were the bridesmaids on strike or had froufing duties been delegated to someone else?
OK. This set of four photos ROCK. I'm not the type of photographer that talks hype when not appropriate but let me tell you now - a series of photos like these are EXACTLY what I wanna shoot during the ceremony.
You know why I was able to get 'em? Well....below you'll see Grant (in the glasses), the VERY nice registrar. He believes couples should have the photos they want and actually allows descrete photography during the service rather than referring to the council edict where 'photography is not allowed'. So thank you kindly Sir, as this made my day.
I should also add it does help to have great moments to photograph, so thanks Mum, Dad, Ben & Emma for your fine input here!
Ohh too cute.
My fellow snappers. A nice orderly line, very considerate.
Symmetrical head tilting - perfect.
It was only 3 O'clock - the question is, will they last 'till the disco?
A regular sight, men in suits, keeping out the way, looking at a piece of paper that remotely resembles a last minute written speech.
"...tell 'em the one about 'it's not the first time you've stood up from a warm seat today', that's always a classic!"
Smokin'
Smoochin'
Coochin'
....yeah I've run out of ideas now for this one. Basically cuddling up out and about at Kingscote Barn and I'll take a photo.
......literally in the Barn.
Ahh OK, back in the real Kingscote Barn as we know it, with tables laid ready for the wedding breakfast.
Two fine muck spreaders, even if I do say so myself.
Lastly a short slideshow from Ben & Emma's wedding at Kingscote Barn.
