Birtsmorton Court Wedding Photography- Ben and Suzie

Ben and Suzie - 28th July 2008

Wow, what an infectious smile Suzie has. That has to be the first thing I noticed when I caught up with her getting ready at The Rising Sun, in Cheltenham. Next up was the amount of piercings her hairdresser had - but that's another story!

It was fine weather for a fantastic wedding at Birtsmorton Court.... which really is a great venue on a super summers day. Speeches were held outside too and the day had a very gentile vibe, but I expected nothing less from Ben & Suzie who are a cool customer.

Here's just a few from their day. It would have been nice to take a few more during the ceremony, but alas, the registrar had some stupidly strict rules about NO photography during the proceedings, so what can you do (perhaps a bitch sometime on another thread hey!)

How cool are these bridesmaid dressing gowns (is that what they're called?). Perhaps bridesmaid bath robes - better?

Birstmorton Courts bridal suite was used for final Bride preps. A nice option to get your wedding dress on complete the finishing touches before the wedding ceremony.

Email

I've been having quite a mixture of emails today, from wedding enquiries, to photographers asking if I'd like an assistant for the day. But, best of all I had this from Amy, whose wedding I'll be shooting next year.

Hello Matt. Can I just say, I eagerly await a new post from you every week on your blog, and you never disappoint with the quality. Your work makes me more and more excited about my day with every picture I see. Regards Amy

It's great to have people enjoying my work and wanting me to shoot their weddings, although I do have to limit the quantity I shoot each year to preserve my sanity (these past 2 weeks are a fine example of what happens in busy season, having had no days off) . So for anyone looking to plan their 2009 wedding, now's the time to act as dates for '09 are filling up fast....along with a few 2010 weddings would you believe!

I'll also be spreading my wings slightly further a filed next year, looking at venues in Worcestershire (such as Ettington Park) and Somerset (such as Orchardleigh House), so if you have a wedding planned there please give me a call as I'd love to spend a day with you.

Daisy's turned into a BIG GIRL

Now this isn't a post for someone who doesn't have kids, has no interest in children, or isn't a family member of the Davis'. So turn away now if you don't fit that category.

I'm pleased to announce that Daisy has now done her first wee on a BIG GIRL toilet - yes....... top marks hey! Well I say the first, it's the first I'd seen... and oddly enough I had my camera in my hand at an opportune moment to capture this peachy little expression. Ahhh isn't she sweet.

Ohh PS - I took it with my my newly aquired 85mm f1.2 lens, which is almost as sweet as Daisy.

Wedding Photographer Gloucestershire - Almondsbury Church / Marquee Reception

Dan and Suzie - 19th July 2008

OK, a little late but here's just a few shots from a wedding last weekend. It's been sorted for the Bride & Groom a while ago now, but I've only just got round to popping up a some photographs.

Thankfully my busy spell of 6 weddings in 11 days (more or less one every other day) has now ended so I'll perhaps have time to post some stuff other than work. Wahoooo......

Furthermore it's my birthday this week (Fri) so I really need some time out to have fun and kick back for a day. For those wishing to know I'm turning the ripe old age of 32 (although I still feel more like 20) - how did it creep up on me so fast?

Anyway, here's a few wedding photos.

A fab Australian bridesmaid - what a cutie she was.

The lovely Suzie, with baby along for the wedding too! I suspect the wedding dress needed a slight adjustment but she looked great.

Blue bridesmaids dresses - possibly a first for me (well, this blue anyhow).

Dad collected vintage cars so there was no shortage of transport for the wedding.

Cripps Barn Wedding Photographer - Chris and Jessica

Chris and Jessica - 25th July 2008

Yet another wedding with a strong foreign contingent. This time it was the Sweeds & the Dutch... making for a very good day, or was that just the schnapz?

Chris & Jessica had arranged a superb wedding with some lovely details such as the wedding booklets with info about all the guests (nice idea, although I'm led to believe it wasn't their own, in fact it was taken from another wedding they'd been to!)

It was pretty toastie so the speeches were a mixture of outdoors & during the meal which I personally think worked really well. Some very touching moments especially from Ulf who produced a poem written by their grandparents that had never previously been read.

Here's my short take on the main part of the day, as I didn't stay too late, but hopefully captured most of the spirit of the day.

Cripps Barn has great light for the ceremony. Better still I was allowed to take photos during it! Wahoo.

This is one of my all time favourite photos and on my office wall as a 12"x16" framed print - lovely.

Neat idea. In the grounds of Cripps Barn the couple had these info booklets tied up.

Cool cake huh? Better still it was cut with that sword - no messing around, one big swoosh and off with the top - love it!
