Daisy and the jelly dinosaur

It's been a nice relaxing Sunday today. I had no wedding yesterday, so wasn't distracted with the option of work to sort out. Instead, Daisy and I went for a walk up Leckhampton Hill.

She's adopted some strange fear of trees....well I say trees, but to be specific it's trees that grow over the path (creating a kinda tunnel effect). A walk in the woods was therefore not exactly what Daisy was mad for! None the less, I decided we needed some fresh air and exercise so armed with Jelly Dinosaurs to tempt her along the 3 mile walk, off we went.

Encouraging words were order of the day. Phrases like "it's just up here Daisy", "not much further now", "ohh is that a Jelly Dinosaur daddy has in his hand?". However encouraging I was though, Daisy the toddler had her own thoughts on the walk. Firstly she'd asked me if there was a shop at the top of the hill!?!? Ummmm.....shall I lie and get her to the top, or is now the time to explain that countryside walks don't often end with a shop atop the hillside!

But, best of all was her response to this statement:

Me "it's nice having a walk in the woods isn't it Daisy"
Daisy "it's not very interesting" (now I must say, for a two year old, the word interesting is pretty good vocab in my opinion!)

Notice how she's smiling in these photos. Yes, we're at the top here. We're eating Jelly Dinosaurs and no trees are growing overhead - phew!
